I believe this constitutes the commission of High Crimes against America and her people, us.
Please tell me what you think. Read this Wall Street Journal article and follow the money.
Recently on a segment of the "Glenn Beck Show" on FOX (Fox Cable News) was the following: "Today, even though President Obama is against off shore drilling for our country, he signed an executive order in August 2009 to loan 2 Billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian Oil Exploration Company (which is the 8th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil ! The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of China and NOT THE USA ! Now here's the real clincher...the Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil". We have absolutely no gain from this transaction whatsoever! Wait, it gets more interesting. Guess who is the largest individual stockholder of this Brazilian Oil Company and who would benefit most from this? It is American BILLIONAIRE, George Soros, who was one of President Obama's most generous financial supporter during his campaign. If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was broadcast on any of the other news networks! Forward this factual e-mail to others who care about this country and where it is going. Also, let all of your Government representatives know how you feel about this. Below is the Wall street Journal article to confirm this. |

Mark Overman for Sheriff
Longtime Scottsbluff Police Detective Mark Overman will challenge incumbent Sheriff Jim Lawson in the upcoming election.
Overman announced Monday that he plans to file to run as sheriff in the next few weeks.
He said he has consider running for many months and made his decision. Overman said he has been urged by many friends and others to run.
“It’s something I’ve thought about for a while,” he said. “I feel my experience with the Scottsbluff Police Department, WING Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force and working with various federal agencies will greatly benefit the citizens of Scotts Bluff County.”
Sheriff Jim Lawson announced earlier this month that he planned to run for a fourth term. Lawson won elections in 1998, 2002 and 2006. The position of sheriff is a four-year term.
Overman and Lawson are both Republicans and will face off during the May 11 primary.
Overman has served as an officer with the Scottsbluff Police Department since 1979. He was promoted to the rank of detective in 1985 and has served in that position since. During his career, he said, he has been involved with more than 1,000 successful convictions, including significant involvement in numerous homicide cases. Three of those homicide cases have resulted in death sentences.
Overman will continue to serve with the Scottsbluff Police Department during his campaign.
Overman was one of the original investigators appointed to the Western Nebraska Intelligence and Narcotics Group (WING) Drug Task Force in 1989. During his 16 years as a WING investigator, he served as case agent on multiple federal conspiracy investigations involving drugs and violent crime in cases that have involved working in various Nebraska and other state jurisdictions. In his tenure with WING, he served as senior agent and supervisor and represented the task force at High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Task Force Commander trainings and meetings.
Through his work with WING, he was deputized by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force in 2002. Overman said he has gained extensive experience with federal agencies, including the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Overman also served for 28 years on the SWAT team in various capacities, including commander for ten years.
Overman said his career has readied him for the position of sheriff.
“With my experience and education, I understand the demands of the position and feel I can rise to the challenge to meet them,” Overman said. “It would be an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of Scotts Bluff County as their next sheriff.”
Overman earned an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in criminal justice from Western Nebraska Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from Chadron State College. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.
Overman has shared his expertise by training new WING investigators, teaching a confidential informant course for county attorneys, conducting SWAT training, teaching undercover operations and raid planning at state investigators school, and speaking on drug investigation topics for local agencies, schools, and civic groups.
Participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics every year since its inception, Overman has served as a local coordinator for the event for 18 years, and has received the Special Olympics “Guardian of the Flame” award.
For eight years, Overman has served as the vice-president of the Nebraska Fraternal Order of Police, representing more than 2,500 officers. Overman is also a member of St. Agnes Church, the Scottsbluff Elks Club, the Police Officers Association of Nebraska, and the FBI National Academy Associates. He is a member and past president of the Scottsbluff Police Officers Association and the Tri-State Peace Officers Association. Overman has also volunteered with a number of local organizations including Theater West, the Midwest Theater, and Valley Christian Neighbors in Need. He is the vice-president of the board of the Scotts Bluff Federal Credit Union.
Overman’s wife, Bev, manages the Railway Office Plaza. She is also the Executive Administrator for the Oregon Trail Community Foundation and the Executive Secretary for the Sugar Valley Rally. Their daughter Angie Wilson is a nursing instructor at Western Nebraska Community College, and their son-in-law Joe Wilson is a painting contractor. They have two grandchildren, ages 7 and 4.

Warehouse Clearance Update
Warehouse Clearance Sale 308 672-3263 Scottsbluff Sash and Door. Call Bill Moore 308 672-3263, that's 308 672-3263.
The response to this advertising has been phenomenal. Less than 30 minutes after our first radio ad aired, Bill had people in the shop saying they heard it on the radio. Well, here's an update.... the response continues to be great and its really best to call Bill at 308 672-3263 if you are interested in taking a tour of all they have for sale there. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk through the warehouse (if you don't get too sidetracked like I do almost every time). Give Bill a call before all the good stuff is gone!
Radio Advertising combined with the Internet is a great way to get results.

Social Marketing
I resisted this craze for a long time. In fact, I told people that social networks were a waste of time when it comes to doing serious business. Then, in early 2009 I decided to go ahead and get a facebook account. This was my first social network experience. Now I have nearly 600 friends and we have acquired new business through facebook.
Now I am busy looking for more social networks to join in order to promote our business and our ministries. Here is a working list of social networks that I know of. Please submit others to me if I don't have them on this list. Thanks everyone!
List of Social Networking Websites
Then you have websites that allow you to post Photos, Review Movies, Take Polls and lots of other things that allow you to post or list your company info.
There are also several websites that allow businesses or business professionals to post their profiles. One leading example would be MerchantCircle.com. There are several others and I wrote another article just on all those.
Here is a list of the Top 25 Social Networking Sites according to Compete.com.
Social Networking is something that you need to pay attention to but at the same time, caution yourself from spending too much time doing nothing but 'socializing'.

10 Biggest Lies of 2009
On December 13, 2009 President Obama declared that he was not elected to help the “fat cats." But the cats got another version of that memo. A day later, 10 of them were supposed to partake in some White House face-time to talk about their responsibilities to the rest of the country, but only seven could make it. No-shows for the "very serious discussion" -- due to inclement New York weather or being too busy with internal bonus discussions to bother with the President -- were Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack and Citigroup Chairman Richard Parsons.
Yes, Obama inherited a big financial mess from the Bush administration – which inherited its set-up from the Clinton administration (financial recklessness, it turns out, is non-partisan) -- but he and his appointees have spent the year talking about fighting risk and excess on Wall Street, while both have grown.
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner patted himself on the back for making the "difficult and necessary” decisions of fronting Wall Street boatloads of money to cover its losses and capital crunch last fall. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke (a Bush-Obama favorite) was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for saving the free world as we know it. And Congress is talking "sweeping reform" about a bill that leaves the banking landscape intact, save for some minor alterations. For starters, it doesn’t resurrect the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, which separated risk-taking (once non-government-backed) investment banks from consumer oriented (government-supported) commercial banks.
Meanwhile, Wall Street is restructuring (the financial equivalent of re-gifting) old toxic assets into new ones, finding fresh ways to profit from credit derivatives trading, and paying itself record bonuses -- on our dime. Despite recent TARP payback enthusiasm, the industry still floats on trillions of dollars of non-TARP subsidies and certain players wouldn’t even exist today without our help.
Wall Street’s return to robustness and Main Street’s continued deterioration are the main takeaways for 2009 that stemmed from the 2008 choices to flush the financial system with capital and leave the real economy to fend for itself. Lies that exacerbate this divide only perpetuate its growth. With that, here is my top 10 list of lies. Please consider adding your own, and let’s all hope for a more honest New Year.

Email marketing seminar
Patricia Berry is speaking on Email and Social Marketing at the Gering Civic Center during the local NAIFA awards meeting. Andrea and I were invited by the current panhandle NAIFA president Jim Moseley of Moseley-McGill in Scottsbluff. I was in the insurance business at one time in my life, so I knew alot of the agency managers, but we came to learn more about how the insurance business is using online marketing to enhance their bottom line. Thank you for allowing us to sit in Mr. Moseley. If anyone is interested in implementing email marketing, website optimization or any of the things she talked about, please let us know how we can help you locally. We would be happy to work directly with Patricia and her company to get the most out of your online presence.

Radio Advertising Works!
We hear alot of good things about our radio and internet advertising. We have been blessed by literally dozens of new websites in several states that came to us through the radio advertising.
I was in church Sunday (teaching my Senior Adult Sunday School Class) and we were taking prayer requests or praises when Mrs. Moore shared with me that no more than 30 minutes after their radio ad ran, they had people in the warehouse. I just put the opening grain and livestock markets up and they played on KOLT, KOAQ and Wild Country at 10am. I mentioned that Scottsbluff Sash and Door was having a Warehouse Clearance Sale with lots of miscellaneaous items for sale. The Moores said they were very happy with the response from the radio advertising. This is what we work for... To help people.
Scottsbluff Sash and Door is going out of business so there are lots of things for sale at bargain basement prices. Visit AgMarketOnline.com and type in clearance sale. Click on their banner and it will take you to a page with a map if you need it and a short list of items for sale.

Ranchers and Twitter
Here is a great article from the founder of CattleGrower.com, a dynamic social media portal modeled after the success of facebook. It's really facebook for ranchers. Check out this article about Twitter;
Posted: Wednesday, November 25, 2009 -
There are two main reasons ranchers aren't as quick to adapt and use technology:
1. Most ranchers spend their days (and often nights) in the corrals and pastures rather than at a desk.
2. Many benefits and uses of technology aren't immediately transparent to those who don't spend their days behind a computer.
I'd guess several reading this article haven't even heard of one of the latest rages, Twitter. I'd also venture to say those who have don't have much of an idea of what it is and how its technology can makes their lives better. So, what is Twitter? In a nutshell, it's a tremendously simple process of sharing short ideas and messages (140 characters or less) through the Internet or your cell phone, at no cost, to those your connected with.
How's that for a simple explanation!
Better yet, how can Ranchers use this technology for their benefit directly?
Here are Five Ways:
1. We all want to keep in touch with our family and friends more, but often we're just too busy to make that call.
Twitter provides a quick and easy way to keep in touch with friends and family with your daily experiences that don't generally call for more formal communication - Even if they are half way around the world.
Here are a few examples: "Betsy finally had her calf - Nice looking heifer" or "Twelve more inches of snow today - Can't wait for Spring"
2. Those who use Twitter know many of the "tweets" they receive (your messages) are just your way of keeping in touch. Therefore, it's completely acceptable to have business contacts as followers to keep up with what is going on in your informal life.
Here are a few examples: "Last calf down - eight heifers and two bulls - going to be a great sale this fall" or "Finally decided to sell that old tractor - First $9,500 takes it"
3. Ever had a quick question while out in the field? The more followers you have on Twitter the quicker you'll get get help. Just grab your cell phone and 'tweet' away!
Here are a few examples: "What's the best way to get out from under a tractor wheel?" or "How can I keep deer out of my hay stacks?"
4. We've all had one of those days... stuck in traffic, gored by a bull, etc. The sage advice is to let it out! Rage to your Twitter followers rather than running your truck in to that guy that just cut you off and you'll feel better.
5. Ever stood in front of the movie theatre wondering if your about to waste 15 bucks? Send a quick tweet to find out if your better off waiting for it to come out on cable.
The uses of Twitter are endless, but all of them have an overriding factor... to keep in touch. From CattleGrower.com

New Server Update
We are happy to announce that we have a new server and we were able to get the database connectivity figured out. Great teamwork!
We have moved a whole bunch of websites over to the new server, but it's still realistically going to be another month before everything is completely off the old server.
The New Server is with the same company we have been using as our official registrar company for several years now. We are hoping that by moving these two web services under one roof, it should make dns issues easier to troubleshoot. We have had reports from website clients that they cannot view their website. We can see it and they can't, or sometimes vice versa. We look at the dns and it looks right, but sometimes it will work without the www. in front and sometimes with it. It makes no sense. I have my a records and my cname set up the same way as I always have. The old server company cannot explain it, so they get the boot. We believe that sometimes you just have to clean house.
With Andi in the front office, Joyce Lana at Reception, Brian in Marketing, Howard in Broadcasting and James as Mr. Fixit - we now have an office team of very positive and enthusiastic hard workers who understand how important their jobs are.

You have probably already heard that Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson gave in to the pressure of the giant political machine and voted FOR Obama Care.
I am disgusted at soon to be former nebraska senator ben nelson. He caved in and sold out a nation to benefit his own state. Hasta la vista america as we know it.

Dinner with Obama
Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics. There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.
I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner. The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.
"Sorry about that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry."
"I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty.. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.
"And his brother Eric is very thirsty." said the President.
I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind. My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.
"Eric's children are also quite hungry."
With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.
"And their grandmother can't stand for long."
I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President.
"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."
I wanted to shout - that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in. The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.
"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do."
My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor. The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine.
I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.
"By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind. There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."
I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine.
As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us. What had I done wrong?
As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands.
"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll," he said.
Wake up, America!

5 Crucial Components
I found a pretty decent article on website design so I am posting it here. It's called '5 Crucial Components of Web Design' and it was written by Woody Longacre of Internet Web Design. (My words appear in italics). - Brian Hale
5 Crucial Components of Web Design
Professional website developers know the importance of web design and the role it plays in making a website successful.
Designing a successful website is no easy task, especially for someone who is new to the world of web development. With the help of web development applications many people can and do create decent websites. But decent in most cases is not good enough to make a site successful from a traffic or financial standpoint.
There are five crucial components of web design that you must focus on in order to make a site valuable to its visitors and successful for you.
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization) -
Getting free traffic to your site.
- Usability (User Friendliness) -
Ease of navigating around the site and finding desired information quickly.
- Aesthetics -
Visual appeal.
- Content -
Valid, up to date, relevant information (should be easily updateable too).
- Graphics -
Eye candy that relays relevant visual information to the visitor.
by Woody Longacre, Internet Web Design
I agree with the first 4 elements but believe that the graphics fall under Aesthetics. The 5th component on my list would be your marketing plan. You must promote your website through as many 'traditional' ways possible... You cannot expect random internet traffic alone to drive your entire business. - Brian Hale, Hale Multimedia

WyoBraska Tea Party
It's time for all of us to stand up and defend our constitutional rights before they are all taken away by an administration that has completely abandoned the principles this nation was founded upon. Please visit www.wyobraskateaparty.com, the official website for the Tea Party that began on the Scotts Bluff County Courthouse lawn on April 15th, 2009.

All New Control Panel
As many of you have probably already noticed, your Control Panel looks quite a bit different now. We created a new look but kept all the best features.
You can now update your Account Information, Description and Keywords right from the first page. You can also send us a Support Request from there as well now. Other sections that were improved or fixed were the Website Statistics and View/Pay Bill Online and there are now buttons to our Blog and Newsletters.
Not everyone has updateable pages on their website, so for some of you, that button (Update My Website) will not work.
If you would like more updateability on your website, please contact us!

Auto Thumbnailer
One thing that will slow down a website is photos that are too large. We have always encouraged our clients to optimize their photos before uploading and many of you have done a great job with this.
However, to make it easier for our clients we developed an Automatic Thumbnailer function that can be built into your Control Panel. Instead of having to resize every photo and/or upload an additional thumbnail, we have a simple upgrade that will take care of all that for you on the fly. All you have to do is upload your original photo and the computer will do the rest. This will GREATLY decrease your website's load time and save yourself a bunch of time and possible headaches.
This upgrade to your photo uploader takes about an hour to install and would therefore cost $75. (one-time fee added to your next statement)
If anyone is interested, simply contact us!

Auction-Corner now FREE!
We recently improved several different things on Auction-Corner.com and re-released the newest design this month. One of the coolest changes was the fact that the owner decided to make it 100% FREE. No Listing Fees, No Selling Fees, No Fees period.
Other major improvements include the addition of a For Sale Items section as well as a Wanted Items section that allows you to tell others exactly what you are looking for.
The owner has told us that the site will probably remain free through 2009, so this would be the very best time to get registered and start posting items.

Search Engine Scams
Over the past 12 years we have encountered literally thousands of spam emails CLAIMING that they could GUARANTEE that MY SITE could be on the FIRST PAGE of the major search engines. We've even received a few telemarketer calls of this nature, but mostly by email.
Either way, we do not recommend spending extra money on the search engines. We have been able to achieve first page results without ever paying any search engine a nickel.
I am not saying they are not a legitimate company, but let's analyze something...
WHAT IF, out of the millions of spam email (unsolicited, you did not ask them to email you), WHAT IF they got say... 1/10 of 1% of the people to buy in to their deal. 1/10th of 1% of 1 million spam emails would mean about 1000 people could have their websites on the first page.... hmmm.... let's see, there are usually 10 per page... see my point?
I have to laugh at companies who send out an infinite amount of spam hoping to sell something finite that they CANNOT guarantee.
It just doesn't add up and they know it. They are COUNTING on thousands of people to just say, 'what the heck, it's only $12.95 and if I lose it, so what'.
Like I said, my recommendation is to delete the email or ignore the telemarketers. If you feel that your website is not getting enough traffic, then we can certainly take a look at the same things they would and we'll do it for our customers for free!

Google Mail Servers
We recently learned that Google has been providing free email servers since 2006 and decided to look into this as a possible option for us. We knew if it worked for us, we could assist our clients in making the transition.
We set up our own email accounts on google apps for halemultimedia.com. It was easy to setup and we noticed an immediate reduction in spam and how easy it was to use google mail with our own domain. It did not take long to make the decision to advise all our customers of our new recommendation to use the google mail servers. We will even make the switch for you at no charge.
What does this mean to you? it means that will have better email service and the only thing we will have to do is walk you through changing a couple settings in your email program. Once those are reset, you won't do anything any differently than before. Your email address won't change and you won't have to do anything any differently... That is unless you want to take advantage of their easy to use web interface to check and store your email. I liked it so much, I don't use anything else now unless I need to dig up an old email. It even has contact manager and calendar that are super easy to use.

1BestSearch.com Stats
We debuted 1bestsearch.com on Nov 26th, 2008 with 36 days left in the year. The first few days Andi and I were the only ones getting on the site, but by the end of November (our first full month) we were averaging 28 people every day viewing around 560 pages a day. We felt pretty positive about this since it was only our first month.
Our growth in the second full month was spectacular. We averaged 119 unique visitors viewing 1443 pages per day in January 2009. Totals for the month of January : 44,746 pages viewed by 3700 visitors. More than 26,000 local searches were performed and clickthroughs exceeded 30,000 in a single month!
1BestSearch.com is working!
Anyone who upgrades their free listing to a Featured Business gets access to their own statistics plus several other benefits. Upgrade for as little as $12 per month.
Remember, this search engine is advertised every day on several local radio stations. Get your business listed if it isn't already.

1BestSearch.com History
1BestSearch.com is a LOCALLY FOCUSED search engine developed by Hale Multimedia primarily for the WyoBraska Area.
My passion for search technologies began when I was programming in dBase back in the 1980's. Databases are developed to organize your information so that you can find what you're looking for FAST. That's exactly what search engines are supposed to do. However, most major search engines give you results that are not well organized. I think this is what has motivated me to develop a more well-organized, easy-to-use search engine that will provide you with relevant results quickly.
This 'little' search engine already has quite the history behind it since 1BestSearch.com is really a culmination of several previous search websites dating back as far 1996.
My first search site was really more of a links site that was created before I knew how to tie my database programming into a website. Therefore, I handcoded every link, one at a time. I was very fortunate that the area I selected to make a directory for (Southwest OK) only had a couple hundred websites at the time! This is how The Internet Gold Pages began. I moved back to Western Nebraska in 1998 and by 2000 I was starting to learn php and mysql and it wasn't long before we had our first truly database driven search site. I wanted to focus on helping my hometown community so I created a WyoBraska Area Gold Pages website and produced a printed version that was distributed for free. The database just kept growing and I soon realized we would have to expand our scope beyond our area. Therefore, 1BestDirectory.com was born. This site was designed to incorporate several different areas of the country in one database, while still keeping them seperated by region or area of the country. 1BestDirectory.com became a widely used search engine in several countries but it was becoming too much like the major search engines. Since there were so many links submitted by the public, the directory became cluttered and was in dire need or reoganization.
However, the reorganization had to wait.
By this time we were getting extremely busy just keeping up with all the website design work. Between 2000 and 2007 we went from 45 website clients to almost 300 with our average website value tripling, leaving little time to work on our own sites.
Finally in 2008 we made the decision to bring back the Gold Pages under a new name and improved functionality - 1BestSearch.com.
We launched the new 1BestSearch.com on November 26th, 2008 (the day after Thanksgiving). Our goal is to create and maintain the most comprehensive, well-organized locally-focused search engine.

Growth Through Adversity
Wow, another year has come and gone!
We've always believed that we grow through adversity and January was a great month for growth! We have been battling spammers for quite a while and it came to a head in late December. So bad that we decided to take serious action. Once we decided to look at other server options, it all became clear. We have decided to separate our web server from our email server. (Right now they are one in the same) Furthermore, Andi did some great research into mail server options and found that Google offers a tremendous service that is absolutely free and more dependable than our email server. Therefore, we are in the process of transferring everyone's email to Google Apps. Once every last client is transferred, we can completely shut down the old email server.
Even though this mail server issue has set us behind on re-launching the new design for auction-corner.com, we knew that it was something that had to be done to save the web server from being shut down.

Auction-Corner.com
Month 2 for Auction-Corner.com;
December was another good month for auction-corner.com. Average visitors per day increased to 70 with a total of 2187 visitors for the month. We also had a few sales with one of our members getting a sale in the $500 range I believe.
However, we still need to get more members before this site becomes truly successful. Therefore, the owner of the site has decided to extend the free trial period through Jan 31, 2009.
If we still do not have the kinds of numbers that we need, we may consider extending the FREE TRIAL period even longer, plus we have been talking about charging a LOW FLAT MONTHLY Membership Fee that would allow you to bid on and post UNLIMITED ITEMS. We will have more information on the options available once we RE-LAUNCH with our new and improved design and functionality. This should occur sometime early next year.

Auction-Corner.com
After much anticipation and months of programming, Auction-Corner.com has been released! We officially launched the easy-to-use auction website on Nov 5, 2008.
Here are some surprisingly decent first month stats;
Avg page views per day : 753
Avg unique visitors per day : 51
Total Visitors for Nov 2008 : 1537
Total pages views for Nov 2008 : 22,591
We have already recognized many ways to improve upon auction-corner.com and there is a lot of work ahead of us. The list of suggested improvements is very large. We have talked many times that I'll probably still be programming for the next year. The project is huge and the time investment is sacrificial, but the end product should prove to be successful.

Hale Ministries Update
Since I have been including articles about The Jeremiah House and other ministries of ours, I thought it might be good to include an article that explains a little bit about what we believe in and why we do what we do.
Hale Multimedia LLC is comprised of two generations (third up and coming) of Hales. Howard and Pat Hale adopted Brian and his little sister in the mid 1970's. Howard's mother, the late Eula Hale, was also one who believed in adoption. She adopted a little sister for Howard at a young age. Howard and Pat instilled solid principles into their children that had a very positive impact, especially on Brian.
As a family of believers in the blood of Christ, we understand that we are nothing without Him. Therefore, we continually thank God for the forgiveness and grace He has shed upon us all. We believe that we should serve Him in whatever ways we can, without expecting anything in return.
Most of the ministries that we are involved in center around serving the Lord.
Howard and Pat have served in numerous capacities in their lifelong church at Plymouth Congregational in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Howard has also been named 4-H Volunteer of the Year on more than one occasion for all the free announcing he does for the community. Howard also announced the Cougar Basketball games for 14 years at our local Junior College. Howard gives credit to God for giving him the vocal chords that allow him to be a successful announcer and radio personality. Patricia Hale served as a Speech Pathologist with ESU 13 for many years before retiring a few years ago. Since then, she has taken on home visitations for the sick and elderly as her personal ministry and enjoys it very much.
Brian Hale has had a heart for service for a long long time. He seldom hesitates to help someone in need. Over the years Brian has served in many capacities including as a soldier in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as well many other service related organizations. He has served as a Youth Leader and is currently Game Director for Zion AWANA, Chair of Building and Grounds, serves on the Leadership Team and Missions Committee and manages the multimedia sound system at Bethel Baptist Church. Brian also volunteered to provide Christian, National and Local newscasts to KCMI radio for over a year before being named Director of The Jeremiah House Children's Ministry in Scottsbluff where he had been a volunteer since 1999.
Brian was blessed to have finally found the servant minded partner of his dreams when he met Andrea Bauer in late 2003. Andrea was very like-minded when it came to helping others and the two of them have truly enjoyed serving together. Andi served as a Camp Fire leader and was Choir Director for Zion Evangelical for several years before getting married and starting a family with Brian. She has also served in the AWANA program at Zion since 2000, as VBS Director and Nursery Director at Bethel Baptist since 2005 and as Publicity Director for MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) since 2007. Andi also helps design and maintain numerous websites for non-profit organizations, sings on the Praise Team and graciously helps her husband with his ministries.
We give God all the credit for allowing us to serve Him. We believe it's the right thing to do and we'll continue to do so, even though we know that we could make more money doing other things. It's not about money. It's about serving others for Christ Jesus who died for us all. That's a debt that is even bigger than the U.S. Deficit, which is in the trillions. We simply pray that our community, our great nation and this world are better off because of our service in His name.

The Common Sense Fix
Years of bad decisions and stupid mistakes have created an economic nightmare in this country, but $700 billion in new debt is not the answer. As a tax-paying American citizen, I will not support any congressperson who votes to implement such a policy. Instead, I submit the following three-step Common Sense Plan.
I. INSURANCE
Insure the subprime bonds/mortgages with an underlying FHA-type insurance. Government-insured and backed loans would have an instant market all over the world, creating immediate and needed liquidity.
In order for a company to accept the government-backed insurance, they must do two things:
1. Rewrite any mortgage that is more than three months delinquent to a 6% fixed-rate mortgage.
a. Roll all back payments with no late fees or legal costs into the balance. This brings homeowners current and allows them a chance to keep their homes.
b. Cancel all prepayment penalties to encourage refinancing or the sale of the property to pay off the bad loan. In the event of foreclosure or short sale, the borrower will not be held liable for any deficit balance. FHA does this now, and that encourages mortgage companies to go the extra mile while working with the borrower—again limiting foreclosures and ruined lives.
2. Cancel ALL golden parachutes of EXISTING and FUTURE CEOs and executive team members as long as the company holds these government-insured bonds/mortgages. This keeps underperforming executives from being paid when they don’t do their jobs.
This backstop will cost less than $50 billion—a small fraction of the current proposal.
II. MARK TO MARKET
Remove mark to market accounting rules for two years on only subprime Tier III bonds/mortgages. This keeps companies from being forced to artificially mark down bonds/mortgages below the value of the underlying mortgages and real estate.
This move creates patience in the market and has an immediate stabilizing effect on failing and ailing banks—and it costs the taxpayer nothing.
III. CAPITAL GAINS TAX
Remove the capital gains tax completely. Investors will flood the real estate and stock market in search of tax-free profits, creating tremendous—and immediate—liquidity in the markets. Again, this costs the taxpayer nothing.
This move will be seen as a lightning rod politically because many will say it is helping the rich. The truth is the rich will benefit, but it will be their money that stimulates the economy. This will enable all Americans to have more stable jobs and retirement investments that go up instead of down.
This is not a time for envy, and it’s not a time for politics. It’s time for all of us, as Americans, to stand up, speak out, and fix this mess.

Stock Market 'Surprises'
Wow! The DJIA (Dow Jones Industrial Average) dropped 777+ points on Monday the 29th. Experts say that meant 1.2 trillion dollars in losses. Doing the math, that comes to just over 1.5 billion dollars per point! I thought that was interesting. However, what I found out after doing a little research, is that Tuesday's 486 point jump was the third largest single day point INCREASE in the history of the stock market and was only 13 points away from the all time record of just under 500. Tuesday's increase calculates to an increase in value of $750 Billion in one day. One day.
I also learned that 5 out of the top 11 all-time single day increases occurred in 2008 and the all-time record closing bell occurred less than a year ago in October of 2007. If the DJIA is an indicator of a good or bad economy, then the economy must have been doing better than ever last September when the stock market closed at all-time highs of over 14,000! Right? Wrong. Don't let the news about the stock market pursuade you to panic. The Stock Market != The Economy. (does not equal) It's certainly an important element in the overall assessment of the economical picture, but it is based too much on emotion and speculation.
The stock market was due for another adjustment. All one has to do is look at history and you will find that the frequency of the 'crashes' is increasing to every several years now. However, history also proves that the market ALWAYS bounces back over time.
I've got a question. If the DJIA gets back to pre-Monday levels, would that be like it never happened? What does it mean to lose billions of dollars one day, only to 'win' it back?
The stock market reminds me of computerized card games I used to play as kid. You start with some pretend money and play until you're broke... then you ask for more credit and play long enough to win again. As long as you can keep playing long enough, then you will eventually win (break even). Compare that to stocks. If you can afford to keep playing long enough, you will 'win'. If you panic and for some reason sell when prices are sinking, you will inevitably lose. Ride the tide, don't rely on emotion and the market will eventually rebound. Look at history, it shocked me and I would like my message to be to encourage everyone about being more optimistic about the future of the United States. God has a plan for America. Let's do what we can to seek His will and live it out. 'Be careful to do what the Lord your God commands you'. ~ Dueteromony 5:32
