Monday June 28, 2010 - Area phones and internet service were out of order in many places today in the Scottsbluff area for several hours, which affected all kinds of services including the use of debit or credit cards. It also seemed as though all the cellular service was down except for Viaero, which is our carrier here.
Apparently it was Century Link reporting the outage and they worked to restore service by early afternoon. Although our office phone service was down (Allo), our internet service was not affected... ? Strange, but again, great for us, so we actually carried on business as usual for the most part and were happy to see everyone else's service restored quickly.
Howard Hale's office in Minatare does not have service as of 2:00 pm Mountain. Therefore, he is not able to provide any current programming to our radio stations and their thousands of listeners. We hope that service is restored in Minatare soon! We are building a new recording studio in our Scottsbluff office, but that won't be ready for another month or so.
Just spoke to some businesses in Gering and Scottsbluff and it appears that the internet outage is not completely fixed yet. They are reporting that it is up and down and even the phone service is still spotty.
